What an amazing day we’ve had in Year 4 today, working with Mr Brooks and his team from Casting Innovations Ltd.
This was the next stage of our incredible recycling project!
The children are all making leaves, out of the aluminium cans we found on our litter pick – taking what was someone’s rubbish, and turning it into something new!
The children made their very own casts, using special sandy clay and the Fimo leaves we made before Half Term…
Then, Mr Brooks melted the aluminium (at around 1000 degrees!) in his furnace, and poured it into our moulds to make metal leaves …
Can you believe these were made from old drinks cans?
Well done, everyone!
More next week from our Science Ambassadors, as they find out about the final stage of the project!
