Class 5 Sounds of Nature

This afternoon Miss Whitworth hijacked Class 5 ‘s science lesson all about measuring sound waves and we all stopped and listened to the sounds around us and thought about how they made us feel.

The children heard rustling leaves, an owl and lots of birds tweeting and flapping their wings. We recognised the sound of traffic and other children aswell! The children enjoyed stopping and spending a short while just listening to their surroundings and said it made them feel calm – it is important to remember how calming it is to be in nature and take some time out of our busy days to spend outside!
