NEMESIS in Year 5 and Chestnuts

As part of our NEMESIS project this term, we’ve discussed helping others in our local community.

Class 7 thought it would be a wonderful idea to have a penfriend and write to someone in our local community, who might not be able to go outside or see relatives due to the pandemic. They chose to support residents at our local care home – Cherry Trees Care Home.

Both myself and Miss Singleton will be visiting Cherry Trees tomorrow to present the residents and staff with the personalised pen friend letters and hand made Christmas card from Year 5, and will also be taking Christmas gifts from EYFS.

Tomorrow afternoon, we will also be singing some traditional carols (outside) for the residents – socially distanced of course.

We welcome parents and carers to join us with your children at Cherry Trees at 2.15pm, if you are free. We will bring some lyric sheets – just ‘We Wish You…’ and ‘Jingle Bells’ etc. We would love to see some of you there (and also so Miss Singleton and I don’t need to sing on our own)!
