Welcome Back

Good morning everyone.

I hope you have had a wonderful break and an enjoyable Easter with your families. I know it will have been different this year with lots of video calls with family from other households. I also know that this is a difficult time for many people in our communities and the world and we must be here for each other.

So it’s the first day back at school after the holidays, although sadly we can’t be together today, we are however staying connected. Your teachers have been busy over the holidays planning your learning for the next few weeks and you will be starting some new exciting learning today with a new topic. It is very important that you engage with this learning but remember, you can be creative in how you want to present it. Videos, photos, writing, art. Your teachers and I will be proud of you no matter how you engage.

I have been absolutely blown away by your learning during the first two weeks of schools closing and your engagement shows just how resilient Roughwood Learners are. Well done to everyone. Especially your parents who are doing brilliantly in supporting you. So, we must continue with this and your first tasks should be coming through on Class DoJo any minute.

A quick message for parents whose children were due to start with our new Twos Provision. Miss Canadine will be contacting you this week to set you up with logins and access to home learning activities. It’s important that we try to familiarise children with new staff and Miss Canadine is looking forward to getting started. I would also like to Welcome Miss Burgin who is starting with us in Acorns. She will now be taking over the class and will be engaging with parents and children on class DoJo. Miss Lunn is also starting with us as a Teaching Assistant in Foundation. So can I just say, welcome to the team.

So that’s all from me for now, continue to take care, keep safe, and do a brilliant job with your learning. Well done everyone.

Mr Williams
