In Foundation 1, we have taken part in a wide variety of learning this week. Our focus has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Through this, we have made our own caterpillars, using paint and egg boxes and paper chain caterpillars. We have retold the story in our immersive reading area; we really enjoyed reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar using the story sack. We all thought it was magic when the caterpillar turned into a beautiful butterfly. To follow on from this and gain real life experiences, we have a tub of caterpillars in our investigation area; we are patiently waiting for them to turn into butterflies too!
Alongside this, we have also explored our interests using the Duplo to create farms, the doll’s house and home corner to recreate our own stories and the construction to build houses for the bugs and the animals.
