On Friday 2nd February, the magic of ‘Hogwarts’ came to Roughwood Primary School.
The children had all received their acceptance letters by owl before Christmas. This was the much-anticipated night of the year so far!
We transformed our hall into Hogwarts and even had our own sleeping quarters.
Every child that stayed over was wanted by Azkaban and had their own wanted poster up in the hall. When the children arrived, they waved goodbye to their parents and entered Platform 9 3/4 to be transported to Hogwarts.
Settling down for the night, the children unpacked their belongings.
Each child was then sorted by the sorting hat into the houses Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

During the night we enjoyed wordsearches, potion recipe-making and a Harry Potter Quiz. The winning house was…….HUFFLEPUFF!
We enjoyed our take-away pizza, chips and garlic bread before settling down and watching ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. Once the film ended, all the children went to sleep.
What a fantastic, magical night it was. We can’t wait for the next one!
